East dominate from start to finish at Leigh Park
Great hands, plenty of support and workman like performances from the tight 5 allow East to get another big away score.
Against the wind in the first half the combination of forwards and backs, keeping the ball in hand, was too much for the hosts. Nick Darvill scored first, touching the ball down from a scrum. First touch down before the line, second attempt over the line. The ref gave it.
Henry went over next. A fine build up with James instrumental. Clearing up in midfield, he shipped to Coz. He moved it on to Shed who charged up field. A perfectly timed offload releasing Jord Cutler. The ball came back in to H to finish. A great team try. James (Geordie Shaw) then bagged a brace himself before big Sean crashed over. Sean and Sam were awesome around the park. The engine room on top form!
Prop Ben Hayes was handed the tee and kicked 3 from 5.
HT Wimborne 0 East 31
This was the half time score at Dorch a week earlier where our renowned tight defence leaked 24 pts. Bad! This week was different.
East started from scratch and played a disciplined game which was a joy to watch. They were enjoying it and Wimborne, for all their efforts, found the visitors hard to cope with. Pooly ran in two fine tries and the ever hard working Sads decided it was time for his regulation hat trick. He duly obliged. 24 now for the back row/centre.
Benny kicked another 3 cons. A short armed great tally with the boot!!
Wimb scored a deserved try, a run which eluded Thainy and the covering big Kiwi, only for the certain try scorer to fall flat on his face before the line. They were awarded a pen which Scam ran in to score.
FT Wimb 7 East 62 - Men of the match are the two locks, Kiwi and Bottom, they were everywhere.
Smiles on faces at full time! Good to see. Good players meeting last week and we all know where we are going. Tough one today, let's be up for it lads!!! Stu.
