Wimborne ll 23 East Dorset 41
Strong final quarter gives East' second away league win
East rolled into Leigh Park having been close to cancelling due to lack of players early in the week. Glad they didnt (well, I didnt) as those who put the shirts on after decent training numbers fought out a thriller. Early pens for each side cancelled each other out, ours from Ivan the terrible. Stumpy then intercepted and ran in our first try. The terrible kicked.
Moog then went over, running a great line to put East 15-3 up but Wimb hit back with a 7 pointer right on half time.

A great 2nd half ensued. Our same combo of Stumps and terrible got 7pts after Wimb had kicked a pen. It was 13-22 and a close game. Wimborne scored again for 18-22 then again for 23-22 as the home crowd roared them on.
Big test for East. They needed to commit less to the breakdowns and get their running game going. They did just that!
A penalty try was awarded after Wimb infringed in front of their posts. The home defence looked tired as Sadler found his second wind, a great solo try was followed by great hands, Timmy Smash kept the ball in play superbly in the tackle and Sads plucked it out of the air to score. Ivan with the extras.

Bonus point away win. Fantastic effort, one of the best games I've watched as coach. A real desire to win, good discipline and commitment.
Stirling work up front from front 5, back row awesome with a great 9 and good hands out the backs. Sads gets my man of the match vote for 2 great tries to kill the game and helping me relax!
Thanks to all supporters especially Martin Leadbitter who saw a win before jetting back off to Oz. All the best mate.
